A bottle of Kahlua always seems to appear at the start of the holiday season. Don't use it all on mudslides, save a bit for this boozy baked brie with a brown sugar walnut sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 round (8 ounces) Brie cheese
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup Kahlua (coffee liqueur)
  • Crackers and/or apple slices, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the brie cheese into a 1/2-quart baking dish or a 9-inch pie plate. In a bowl, stir together the walnuts, brown sugar and Kahlua. Spoon the mixture over the cheese.
  2. Bake everything until the cheese is softened, 15 to 20 minutes. Keep an eye on the sauce and walnuts to make sure they’re not burning.
  3. Once you pull the dish from the oven, use a spoon to scoop the sauce over the cheese before serving it with crackers or apple slices.
